Ornella Barra
Chief Executive, Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division, Alliance Boots
As Chief Executive of the Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division, Alliance Boots, Ornella Barra is responsible for the strategy and management of the Alliance Healthcare Division including overseeing the businesses, international wholesaling, pre-wholesaling, retailing (excluding UK and Ireland) and brand development at worldwide level. She is the founder and leader of the European Pharmacists Forum (EPF); and Member of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Alliance Boots.
Past President of ADF (the Italian association of pharmaceutical wholesalers); Member of IFPW (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers) Board; Member of the board of ECR Europe (Efficient Consumer Response); Member of the Board of BITC (Business in the Community).
Ornella Barra was appointed Chief Executive of the Pharmaceutical Wholesale Division in January 2009.
She is a pharmacist and an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham's School of Pharmacy.
