In Italy, the business is present in both wholesale (45 warehouses) and retail (28 pharmacies), including associates, and has approximately 1,500 employees.
Alliance Healthcare Italia was founded in 1977 as Alleanza Farmaceutica. The wholesale business reached national dimensions and was renamed Alleanza Salute Italia in 1996. Then, in May 2007, the business unit was rebranded as Alliance Healthcare Italia. Alphega Farmacia, our network of independent pharmacists in Italy, has approximately 240 members.
