Alliance Santé becomes Alliance Healthcare and strengthens its range of services

24 March 2007

Alliance Santé France, the French leader in pharmaceutical wholesale and the distribution of healthcare products and services, will adopt the “Alliance Healthcare” brand as of April 2007 to become Alliance Healthcare France.

This new brand will be previewed at the international Pharmagora trade fair held from 24 to 26 March 2007 in Paris.

The “Alliance Healthcare” brand will be shared by all European business units of the Wholesale and Commercial Affairs Division of Alliance Boots. The main objective of this shared identity is to present a strong and consistent image in these markets to all stakeholders, in particular pharmacists and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

The Alliance Healthcare name has been chosen by the Group as it highlights the importance of the notion of partnership underpinning its strategy (“Alliance”) and reasserts the company’s commitment to health (“healthcare”). Combined with a strong visual identity featuring four arrows around a pharmacy cross, the new brand will be gradually established through a communication campaign in the French and international press.

Alliance Healthcare is also a plan: that of a business which wants to strengthen its strategic partnership with the pharmaceutical industry and reaffirm its support to pharmacists.

With this in mind, Alliance Healthcare France has chosen to pool together its respective businesses to create synergies for the benefit of customers and partners.

Alliance Healthcare France thus gives pharmacists the opportunity to work with one of the leading wholesale networks in France (wholesale activity, ORP) or benefit from its logistics platform dedicated to pharmacy buying groups (Directlog). This offer is completed by an extensive range of solutions and services contributing to the development of their business: optimisation of pharmacy management (human resources, legal and financial aspects), promotions and advertising at the point-of-sale, customer satisfaction surveys, geo-merchandising, online product information. Moreover, Alphega Pharmacy allows pharmacists to join a network and chain based on a strong ethical, prevention and advice positioning.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers can benefit from the services of the leading European specialist healthcare logistics solutions provider (Alloga), promote their ranges via dedicated sales networks (Dep Santé and Proxi-pharma), launch or speed up sales of a product thanks to direct marketing operations (Pressuma), and distribute their drugs or medical equipment to pharmacies (pre-wholesaling and Locapharm).

This offer to pharmacists and manufacturers is continually enriched with new and customised services aimed at satisfying their requirements and needs.

Jean-Louis Méry, Chairman of Alliance Healthcare France, commented: “Our new brand allows us to structure all services and solutions targeted at pharmacists and manufacturers in one global yet diversified offering. Alliance Healthcare France intends to strengthen its partnership with pharmacists via the development of a tailored range of services, notably through its wholesale activities, its virtual Alphega Pharmacy chain, and its Almus and Alvita products.”

Ornella Barra, Wholesale and Commercial Affairs Director of Alliance Boots, said: “With its complete range of solutions and services, Alliance Healthcare is positioned as the brand of choice for the distribution of healthcare products and services in France and Europe.”
