The Netherlands: Appointment of Arvid Manneke as Country Manager, the Netherlands
21 May 2007Arvid Manneke has been appointed as Country Manager, the Netherlands, for Alliance Healthcare - the Wholesale and Commercial Affairs Division of Alliance Boots. He will spend the first few months gaining a more in-depth knowledge of the pharmacy market and the Company. He will succeed Sjaak de Vries as Country Managing Director in August.
Arvid (47) is a pharmacist by trade and has wide-ranging experience gained within a number of international organisations. In his most recent role, Arvid was member of the Executive Board of the global operating logistical and transport company DSV. Before this, he worked as Group Director of Stork Prints group and as CEO of Koninklijke Frans Maas Groep. Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, he held various positions at OPG.
Arvid's appointment will enable Sjaak de Vries to concentrate on his responsibility as Wholesale CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) Director for the Alliance Healthcare Division, covering Russia, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. Sjaak has already held this role for a year in addition to his operational responsibilities for the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands, the Alliance Healthcare Division is represented by the pharmaceutical wholesale company Interpharm, Kring-apotheek, De Vier Vijzels, Stephar, Spits and Alloga Nederland. Together, they employ around 2,000 staff.
